Interior Architecture – Concept, Storytelling, Design, Realization
Time travel to 1903
The new all-suites house 'Palais Kayser' in art nouveau characterized Traben-Trarbach is another branch of the well-known hotelier Matthias Ganter besides the Jugendstil Hotel Bellevue and the Moselschlösschen. A unique and historically based design story from the Belle Époque, developed and realized by kplus konzept makes the suite house distinctive:
The 'Palais Kayser' is named after the cosmopolitan wine wholesaler and winery owner Julius Kayser from Traben-Trarbach on the Middle Moselle, who cultivated the best contacts with celebrities from business, art and literature at the beginning of the 20th century. He was obviously intoxicated by the optimistic spirit of optimism and its cultural, artistic and architectural flights of fancy, the technical progress and the boundless possibilities of the time. Kayser was also close friends with the Berlin architect Bruno Möhring. Guests can follow in the footsteps of this cosmopolitan, who is 'hip' by today's standards, in the suites of the Palais Kayser.
The suites, ranging in size from 70 to 170 square meters, all with Moselle views and balconies, are located in a newly constructed building with historicist elements on 'Front Row' by the river. Each floor is decorated in a different color family, again echoing the Belle Époque's typical appetite for deep color harmonies.
The furnishings of each of the ten suites offer insight into a socially relevant theme from the turn of the century, translated to the style of the present and the demands of a modern guest establishment of today.
In the art cabinet, for example, guests encounter the painter Frida Kahlo - in the form of a bust. The architecture cabinet celebrates Bruno Möhring and his architectural style. In the music cabinet there is a piano, the literature cabinet, which holds old works of Kayser's writer friends up to current topics of literature, radiates tranquility and thoughtfulness. And an expressive painting in the 'Wanderkabinett' is not coincidentally reminiscent of the legendary check pattern of the Burberry brand, which is famous for its outdoor look and already expanded internationally at the beginning of the 20th century.
In the penthouse suite 'Weltfahrt' many things are reminiscent of the pioneers of aviation and the first world voyage of the airship Graf Zeppelin in 1929. Incidentally, in addition to some glamorous guests, the Mosel wine was also on board and the radio message of Graf Zeppelin to the Moselkayser was: "At a beautiful ride on the ocean, many greetings to the Mosel valley".
- Each suite tells its own story with coordinated design and selected accessories and colors, creating an emotional visitor experience that will be remembered.
„People like diversity and they love stories. The building is in a unique location and therefore also deserves special furnishings. kplus konzept caught my eye with its conversion of an old winemaker's house into vacation apartments in Zeltingen-Rachtig. I really liked the design there in terms of furnishings and color scheme.“

Stylish and Individual
The furnishings of the rooms are upscale and individual, the parquet floors of high quality in herringbone, textured walls and coffering on the walls underline the value. The large-format paintings in all suites are by Freiburg artist Uli Hack.
